PURPOSE:To facilitate condition setting of processes by providing a processing section that makes color correction, sharpness emphasis and gradation change of picture image information of an original picture and an image inputting device that controls correlation between coordinate of a digitizer and coordinate of an input drum and controls a reading means and above-mentioned processing section. CONSTITUTION:Density signals DS obtained from an original color picture on an input drum 10 are color corrected, sharpness emphasizes and gradation changed in a picture image processing circuit 42 and inputted in a memory 43, and color separation data are inputted to a layout station 70. An image inputting device which is in the former stage of the station consists of a console 50, a digitizer 20, a display 52 and a computer system. Positional information of main scanning and sub-scanning is inputted to a timing controlling circuit 55. The circuit 55 controls driving speed of a pulse motor 14 through the computer system, and controls operation timing of an AD converter 41, an image processing circuit 42 and the memory 43. Setting of condition of picture image processing is made using attribute information and rough scan data. The computer 51 operates and determines optimum condition of image processing for each original color picture basing on attribute information and rough scan data and this is set by the circuit 42.
