Device for supplying current to electrical drives of automatic machines, preferably automatic parking machines, which are installed in a public place and which are accessible to the general public. The device is to ensure a current supply for a practically unlimited period of time, and it is to be safeguarded against external damage. For this purpose, there is installed in the housing of the automatic machine a solar generator which has a bullet-proof glass pane as a carrier of the solar cells and of an embedding compound. The bullet-proof glass pane is mounted in the housing in a theft-proof manner in such a way that it closes an orifice in the housing and points outwards with its free surface. For the purpose of producing a diffuse scattering of the incident light, the surface of the bullet-proof glass pane which points outwards or which receives the solar cells can be structured.
