Field chopper having a chopping unit with a preceding pick-up device and a drawing-in device, arranged between the latter and the chopping unit, with two drawing-in rollers which rotate in opposite directions next to one another about vertical shafts transversely to the direction of travel and which are driven from a main gear via a power take-off gear arranged above these rollers, the power take-off gear being preceded by an intermediate gear which, driven from a horizontally arranged input shaft, comprises a positive transmission means and adjusting means, by means of which the rotational speed of the drawing-in rollers can be adjusted in at least two ratios in relation to the rotational speed of the chopping unit.
