CATALYST FOR OXIDIZING NITROGEN MONOXIDE

摘要

PURPOSE:To stably oxidize nitrogen monoxide in high activity for a long period by containing a vanadium compd. and an alkali metallic compd. as a catalyst for oxidizing nitrogen monoxide. CONSTITUTION:In case of removing nitrogen monoxide contained in exhaust gas discharged from a boiler and a combustion furnace or the like, a catalyst obtained by depositing a catalytic component of a vanadium compd. and an alkali metallic compd. in 0.5-10 atomic ratio preferably 1-6 atomic ratio alkali metal/vanadium on a carrier such as silica and alumina is used as the catalyst for oxidizing nitrogen monoxide to nitrogen dioxide and to wash and remove it with an absorption liquid. In this catalyst, nitrogen monoxide incorporate in exhaust gas contg. sulfur oxide such as sulfur dioxide and sulfur trioxide and dust or the like is stably oxidized at low temp. in high activity for a long period.
