A pulverizing mill (10) for reducing mineral samples and which includes a cowl (26) about pulverizing anvils (12 and 13) and respective sample and air inlets (33 and 34) passing through the cowl to the anvils. The cowl (26) forms a confinement about the anvils (12 and 13) so that during pulverizing operations the pulverized sample is directed thereby to a suitable receiver (46) and during subsequent cleaning operations the cowl (26) encloses the anvils so that an air blast may be introduced through the air inlet (33) to scour the anvils (12 and 13) and clean the interior of the cowl (26). |
