The planet carrier for a planetary gear mechanism, especially a multi-speed bicycle hub, has two annular discs (1) of essentially the same shape which are stamped out of sheet material and are arranged coaxially and mirror-image fashion relative to one another, and in each case a plurality of cylindrical bearing studs (5) offset relative to one another in the circumferential direction and pressed out of the sheet material, and, between the bearing studs (5) in the circumferential direction, bridging lugs (11) pressed out of the sheet material in the same axial direction. The bearing studs (5) at the two annular discs (1) are aligned in pairs in the mirror-image arrangement and rotatably support the planet gear wheels (7) arranged axially between the annular discs (1). The bridging lugs (11) rest against one another and are connected firmly to one another by fastening means, for example rivets (15). Teeth (17) are provided on the inner circumference of the annular discs (1) for the purpose of torque transmission. A planet carrier of this kind can be produced economically and without impairment of its ability to function. <IMAGE>
