According to the invention, the mixture of lime and sand, which has been treated with water, is densified (compressed) by tamping with tamping tools operating at 400 to 500 strokes per minute. The compressive strength of the products is about 120 percent above conventional values, though the lime content has been lowered to about 6 percent.
