PURPOSE:To obtain a head of high recording and reproducing efficiency by forming plural laminated coils on a ferromagnetic substrate through an insulating layer enclosing them by a tip magnetic pole and a back magnetic pole and providing an upper magnetic protective substrate that extends to the tip of the head in the upper part with a gap layer between. CONSTITUTION:A ferromagnetic substrate 40 made of Mn-Zn etc., is covered with the first insulating layer 41 of SiO2 etc., and the first thin film coil 42 made of Cu, Al etc., is formed on it and covered with the second insulating layer 43. The second thin film coil 45 is provided on it and covered with the third insulating layer 46. Coils 42 and 45 are connected through a through hole 44 provided in the insulating layers. To form magnetic path of the magnetic head, these insulating layers are etched collectively and concavities 47, 48 are formed between laminated coils. Then, this is filled with ferromagnetic films such as 'Sendust(R)' etc., to form a tip magnetic pole 49 and a back magnetic pole 50 and the front is covered with a gap layer 52 for forming a tip magnetic gap 51 and covered with a protective substrate 53 of high magnetic permeability. |
