PURPOSE:To accurately detect the color information of an object to be detected, by optically connecting the light source of a floodlight projector to each light receiving element of the color detector of a light receiver by an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:The light source of a floodlight projector 1 is optically connected to each light receiving element of the color detector of a light receiver by optical fibers 7, 29 (29a-29c). When the light source of the floodlight projector 1 is allowed to light in such a state that a detection head 44 is allowed to approach the surface 51 to be detected of an object 50 to be detected, the light therefrom is sent to the light projecting optical fiber 7 through a lens and a filter and further allowed to irradiated the object 50 to be detected through the detection head 44 while the reflected light from the object 50 to be detected enters the light receiving optical fiber 29 in the detection head 44 and sent to each light receiving element through said optical fiber 29. At this time, each light receiving element outputs the signal corresponding to the color of the object 50 to be detected to the outside and the outputted signal is analyzed by an operation circuit. By this method, the color information of the object 50 to be detected can be easily and accurately detected without being affected by the restriction of a detection distance or a light path.
