A description is given of a diaphragm valve, in particular for dishwashers, washing machines and the like, which offers particularly high reliability against malfunctions. Two valve seats (4) in the form of annular walls, each closable by a diaphragm (3, 13) clamped at the rim, are connected in series. The control chambers (6, 15) of these two diaphragms (6, 13) are connected to one another, with the result that the control pressure produced and controlled in a manner known per se acts jointly on both diaphragms (3, 13). <IMAGE>
