A machine (10) for making a corner joint (13) for wooden frame parts (11, 12) in the form of dovetails (21) running parallel to the frame plane is described. In order to be able to make highly precise corner joints (13) with a machine (10) of this type in such a way that a visually faultless appearance of the visible side of the workpiece and preferably also of the rear side of the workpiece is achieved, the machine (10), constructed symmetrically to a vertical longitudinal centre plane (28), consists of two cutting-to-length and stepping devices (31, 32), with two saw blades (56, 57) each, which are driven together and are arranged at an axial distance from one another and of which the stepping saw blade (57) has a smaller diameter than the cutting-to-length saw blade (56), and of two dovetailing devices (33, 34), with one dovetail cutter (58) each, which adjoins the outer periphery of the stepping saw blade (57) and covers a radial area between the two saw blades (56, 57) and the base of which runs in the plane of the cutting-to-length saw blade (56) and the tips of which project above the plane of the stepping saw blade (57), and of two further cutting devices (36, 37), which in each case start in a vertical area of the tip of the lowermost dovetail (21) of the dovetail cutter (36, 37) and the cutting radii of which extend into the plane of the stepping saw blade (57), and of two movable slides (38, 39) for mounting the workpieces (11, 12). <IMAGE>
