PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of dephosphorization of molten pig iron by blending the specified amount of CaCO3 and Ca(OH)2 with the specified amount of Fe and Mn oxides and a specified amount of CaF2. CONSTITUTION:This dephosphorizing agent for treating molten pig iron is obtd. by blending 10-90% CaCO3 and Ca(OH)2 with 10-70% Fe and Mn oxides and <=10% CaF2. The dephosphorizing agent contains CaCO3 and Ca(OH)2 in place of CaO and active CaO obtd. by the thermal decomposition of the CaCO3 and Ca(OH)2 is utilized for a dephosphorization reaction. Since the Fe and Mn oxides readily undergo thermal decomposition and feed oxygen to the dephosphorization reaction system, the blowing of a gaseous oxygen source can be eliminated. When Mn ore having function to accelerate the slagging of CaO is used, the amount of CaF2 blended can be reduced. By the composition of the dephosphorizing agent, the high rate of dephosphorization can be attained. |
