Described is a disc-shaped tool having teeth, arranged on the outer periphery and in each case carrying a cutting edge, for the cutting-off and/or form machining of wooden panels, coated chipboards, plastic panels, hardboards or panels of Plexiglas or light metal, in which arrangement the cutting edge is formed by a first cutting-edge part (2), essentially parallel to the axis of rotation, at the cutting-edge tip and by at least one directly or indirectly adjoining side cutting-edge part (3), running in a plane at right angles to the axis of rotation, and cuts the edge of the workpiece (10). In order to improve a tool of the type mentioned at the beginning in such a way that a substantially longer service life is obtained while at the same time improving the cutting quality, it is proposed that the transition (7) from the tooth tip to the widest point (8) of the side cutting edges (3) be curved and that it merge tangentially into this widest point (8) of the tool. <IMAGE>
