An apparatus for mixing materials, especially foundry melt compositions, having a mixing vessel with an outer wall and a bottom part and with flow-guiding fittings fixed therein, especially with guide vanes disposed on the bottom part, is to be developed in such a way that an operationally reliable, easily cleaned mixing vessel providing long on-stream times is produced. To this end the bottom part (12) and the fittings (18, 22) form an assembly which is seated detachably and tightly on the mixing vessel (10) and its outer wall (11), respectively. The bottom part (12) is provided with a centric cut-out (15) and has a central zone (34) which conically opens from said cut-out to the outer wall (11) and adjoining which there is a flange part (33) of the bottom part which can be attached to the outer wall in a detachable manner. <IMAGE>
