Cooling device with a Joule/Thomson cooler

The invention relates to a cooling device with a Joule/Thomson cooler, to which different pressurised coolants are supplied one after another. The invention consists in that first methane gas or halogenated hydrocarbon is supplied, while the following coolant(s) are gases, the boiling point of which lies below that of the respectively preceding gas. The coolants are situated in pressure containers which are connected to one another and to the Joule/Thomson cooler via a pressure line and respectively interposed valves.
