摘要 In the prior art processes, a heavy covering weight is required, which rests as a top load on the carbon composition. The moulding box is coupled to the oscillating weight of the vibration table, so that the oscillation amplitude is reduced or a vibrator of greater drive power has to be employed. If the compression (compaction) is to take place in vacuum, a hood, below which the covering weight is located, is placed on the moulding box in the prior art processes. This imposes an additional load on the vibrating table and because of the sequence of operations different positions must be provided for filling the moulding box and for compacting the carbon composition. The characteristic feature of the compressor (compacter) according to the invention is that the moulding box itself serves as the top load. To release the compacted body, the moulding frame (8) is lowered. Vacuum connection is made via a suction nozzle (25) in the removable cover plate (23) of the moulding box. In this process, the covering weight and the vacuum hood can be dispensed with and a vibrator of lower drive power can be used. Since the filling and compaction is possible in one and the same position of the moulding box, the working cycle is shortened and hence the productivity is increased.
