The invention relates to a safety device for kitchen appliances (1) which can be composed of several parts (2, 3, 4) and has rotary parts, e.g. blades (24). The rotary parts (24, 25, 28) are driven by a motor (20) which can only be switched on when all the parts (2, 3, 4) have been coupled together correctly so that any risk of injury by blades (24) or the like is ruled out. For switching the motor (20) on and off, a microswitch (14) is provided which can be actuated by a bolt (12) via a lever (13). Said bolt (12) moves in a first coil (11) whose magnetic field can be influenced by a second coil (10). Said second coil (10) can be short-circuited via a switch (21) which is actuated by a magnet (22). The switch (21) and magnet (22) are located in different parts (3, 4) of the kitchen appliance (1). <IMAGE>
