PURPOSE:To promptly carry out a cutting off operation by connecting a driving lever to a brake shoe via an elastic member and releasing a braking condition against the energizing force of said elastic member. CONSTITUTION:As a hydraulic pressure is fed into a hydraulic chamber 61, a lever 52 is pushed by a piston 60 and rotated around a supporting point of a strut 51 while expanding a coil spring 54. Thereby, a first brake shoe 42 is rotated in the separating direction from the inner surface of a brake drum 40 and, due to its reaction, a second brake shoe 43 is also rotated so as to separate from the inner surface of the brake drum 40. Accordingly, the pressure contact condition between linings 44, 45 and the inside of the brake drum 40 can be promptly released.
