Radiator fan system in a motor vehicle

A radiator fan system in motor vehicles is described with a radiator with increased flow resistance for the cooling air in individual areas and with a fan cowl enclosing the cooling air flow between radiator and fan. In order to achieve a uniform through-flow and hence cooling capacity of the radiator, at least one air baffle element divides the space between radiator and fan inside the fan cowl into a plurality of secondary spaces, separated from one another, to which areas of the radiator and of the fan are assigned in different dimensional ratios such that the quantities of cooling air per unit area flowing through the area of the radiator are approximately equal. If a secondary radiator is arranged in front of or behind an area of the radiator or if the design depth of the radiator is increased in one area, the quantity of cooling air flowing through this is increased in accordance with the increased cooling capacity.
