A motor/spring force drive system for a high-voltage circuit breaker having a central spring-force store which, via cam discs, causes the circuit-breaker poles to switch on while the switching-off springs are simultaneously stressed. It is intended by means of a drive system having a central spring-force store to make it possible to switch the individual circuit-breaker poles off independently and make one or more renewed switching-on processes possible without any external energy supply. As a result of the invention, the drive system is designed such that the central spring-force store (20) switches the circuit-breaker poles on by means of cam discs (1, 1', 1'', 3, 3', 3''), the force-locking connection between the spring-force store (20) and the circuit-breaker poles being interrupted, for switching off separately, when the switching-on process is effected. The central spring-force store (20) is provided, in order to emit different energy levels, with a hydraulic damping and locking/unlocking device (30). The rapid release of the large forces both of the switching-off springs (6) of the circuit-breaker poles and of the spring-force store (20) is effected by means of piston-ring locks. <IMAGE>
