PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent a damage of a matrix and eliminate the causes of a gas leakage and a deterioration of property, by extending thin sheets of the endmost of laminating shims, and loading them on the peripherys of gas electrodes. CONSTITUTION:On a gas separator 1 are furnished a positive and negative reaction gas feeding grooves 7 and 8 in a Z shape pattern on the front and the rear sides respectively, and air electrodes 2 and hydrogen electrodes 23 are furnished as if covering the gas feeding groove surfaces respectively. Furthermore, L shape shims 4 and 5 are plated to fringe the electrodes 2 and 3. The shims 4 and 5 are composed of laminated thin sheets in a specific thickness, which are made by forming fluorine resin powder into fibrils, and the endmost thin sheets 4' and 5' of the laminated shims are extended crossing the connections of the shims and the gas electrodes to be loaded on the peripherys of the gas electrodes 2 and 3. Therefore, the matrix 6 will not be attached to the connections, and a mechanical extension in the fastening or a thermal extension in the operation can all be absorbed by the sliding of the sheets. |
