In a device for producing an aerosol by means of ultrasound which has a housing provided with coupling parts, a container which is detachably connected to said housing, accommodates a liquid and is provided with corresponding coupling parts, and an electroacoustic transducer which is mounted on said container, a second container, which accommodates the liquid to be atomised, is detachably arranged on the first container. In this arrangement, the first container contains a coupling liquid. The detachable connection between the housing and the first container is constructed as a bayonet coupling, so that the unit consisting of the two containers can be connected by a handle to the housing or removed therefrom. It is also immediately possible to dispense with the second container in this device and to fill the first container with the liquid to be atomised instead of with the coupling liquid, so that depending on need the device can be used with one container or with two containers. The electroacoustic transducer and the associated parts are easily accessible in each case.
