PURPOSE:To make it possible to favorably read a fluorescent image, by constituting the titled apparatus so that the ratio S1/S2 of the sensitivity S1 of a detector to the light of the first wavelength region of an object to be detected and the sensitivity S2 thereof to a second wavelength region other than the object to be detected becomes larger than 1. CONSTITUTION:Laser beam 3 coming to exhausting exciting beam is emitted from the semiconductive laser unit 2 arranged on a temp. regulator 1 and passes through a filter 4 to be scanned by a scanner 5. Next, scanning beam 6 from the scanner 5 forms a scanning line 9 on a scanning surface 8 containing an exhaustive phosphor through mirrors 7a, 7b. Subsequently, the exhaustive beam generated on the scanning line is guided to light detectors 11a, 11b along with scattered exciting beam through a condenser 10 to be formed into a time series image signal. The ratio S1/S2 of the sensitivity S1 of the detector to the light of the first wavelength region of an object to be detected and the sensitivity S2 thereof to a second wavelength region other than the object to be detected becomes 1 or more, pref. 10<3> or more and especially pref. 10<4> or more. By this method, a fluorescent image can be favorably read.
