PURPOSE:To obtain the titled polymer composition useful as an electrically conductive filler or solid catalyst, by treating an inorganic compound in which a heterocyclic five-membered ring compound is impregnated or adsorbed in a solution containing a dissolved oxidizing agent. CONSTITUTION:An inorganic compound, e.g. MgO, alumina or carbon black, in which a heterocyclic five-membered ring compound, preferably furan, thiophene, selenophene or tellurophene is impregnated or adsorbed is treated in a solution containing a dissolved oxidizing agent, preferably anhydrous ferric chloride and/or anhydrous molybdenum chloride to afford the aimed composition. An anhydrous halogenated hydrocarbon, nitrated hydrocarbon, etc., may be preferred for a solvent.
