<p>A compact reverse-osmosis water purifier (10) especially adapted for use in the household on counter-top (14) with an easy-to-operate diverter valve (50) to connect the purifier (10) to a water faucet (52) and sink (54). This reduces the size of the purifier unit (10) while maximizing the height from the dispensing spout (16) to the counter-top (14) to accommodate relatively tall vessels for receiving the dispensed water. An automatic conductivity test device (80) causes a red (86) or a green (88) lamp to be lit each time a button (36) is pressed to dispense water. The diverter valve (50) can be operated to selectively pass water through the faucet (52) in the usual way, or to feed water to the purifier (10). When in condition to feed water to the purifier (10), outlet openings of different diameters can be selected.</p> |
