PURPOSE:To adjust easily and also in a short time the height of plural pieces of poles which are provided vertically on a surface plate, by giving a command to a hydraulic driver by a computer, and controlling the height of plural pieces of poles so as to expand and contract to conform with a shape of a hull shell plate block to be placed on it. CONSTITUTION:When a shape of a desired hull shell plate block is inputted to a computer 10 by a keyboard 2 from among several hull shell plate blocks 8 which have been stored in advance in a memory 11, the computer 10 transmits a command for making the height of each pole 2 conform with the shape of the shell plate block 8, to a hydraulic driver 9. As a result, the height of each pole 2 is adjusted so as to conform with the shape of a desired shell plate block 8. In this way, the height of each pole 2 can be adjusted easily and also in a short time.
