PURPOSE:To obtain a small radius of curvature at the bent part sufficiently by making the bent part for forming the sliding contact part made of metallic plate thin. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic head using a magneto-resistance effect element MR, radius of curvature at the bent part 1cx is made small to make the surface form sliding contact parts 1e, 1f with a magnetic tape. Further, plate thickness of end parts 1ax, 1bx of lead wire parts to be connected electrically to the terminal part of required pattern in the element MR is made small. Thereby, radius of curvature at the part 1cx can be made sufficiently small, and accordingly, the width of sliding contact parts 1e, 1f does not change even when the amount of polishing applied to the faces 1e, 1f changes. Even in the case where the end parts 1ax, 1bx are connected electrically by soldering, swelling-up of solder at the soldered part of the connection does not occur.
