<p>The invention relates to the field of organic chemistry and particularly to a process for the synthesis of α-amino nitriles which comprises subjecting an RCN nitrile to the action of a metal reducing agent to form a metal imine, and treating the latter with a cyaniding agent in order to obtain a compound of formula (I). The compounds of formula (I) are valuable synthesis intermediates, particularly for the production of natural or synthetic amino-acids.</p> |
