PURPOSE:To facilitate the manufacture of a small-diameter shaft part by weldingly combining a large diameter shaft with said small diameter shaft at the outer periphery of the joining part and boring the center of this combined part to remove the unwelded part of said combined part. CONSTITUTION:After carrying out edge preparation for welding on a large diameter shaft part 1 and a small diameter shaft part 2 which are previously machined, the large diameter shaft part 1 and the small diameter shaft part 2 are butted and combined with each other by means of a weld part 4 of the outer periphery of the joined part. And, then, after welding both the shaft parts 1, 2 together, the small diameter shaft 2 is bored 5 from the center of its end part with a drill, etc. to cut off and remove the unwelded part 6 in the center of the shaft weld part 4, completing a machining. Thereby, a combination with high fatigue strength between the large diameter shaft 1 and the small diameter shaft 2 can be obtained.
