PURPOSE:To conduct discharge recovery processing positively by mounting a holding member capable of positioning an ink housing member at a first fitting position under the state of ink conduction and a second fitting position where ink conduction is stopped. CONSTITUTION:A head 1 is capped by a joining section 3 at a home position, a solenoid valve 8 is closed, and an ink cartridge 13 is set at a second fitting position, a position where a pinhole 18A is positioned in a plug 19 and stops the flowing of ink. A lever 9 is ON-operated under the state and a vent valve 5A is closed, a pump 6 is operated and ink is sucked from a discharge opening 2, negative pressure is generated in a flow path up to an ink suction tube 14 from the discharge opening 2, and air is introduced from the discharge opening 2 by opening the solenoid valve 8. A needle 18 is penetrated to specify a first fitting position, the solenoid valve 8 is closed, the lever 9 is ON-operated again, and ink is sucked together with air quickly, thus performing discharge recovery processing positively using the flow rate of ink at that time. |
