<p>In order to make complex shape models, the process makes provision, for shaping of the surface of at least a portion of the outer casing of the piece to be produced, the determination of two auxiliary surfaces, one at least of these surfaces being developable, making it possible, by cutting out, with the aid of a hot wire (4), a developable surface of these two auxiliary surfaces, called cut-out surface (5), in the block of foam previously curved into the shape of the other surface, called curving surface (2), to obtain the desired surface after uncurving of the said block of foam. This operation may be repeated several times and be followed by trimming and sculpting of the piece with the aid of a hot tool which is given a translation/rotation motion relative to this piece. According to an advantageous alternative embodiment of the invention, the process comprises, moreover, performance or control by computer of all or part of the stages of the process. <IMAGE></p> |
