The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for making seams in padded cushions, wherein a cushion (50, 51) is pressed together in connection with the making of a seam. In a first step, before starting the making of the seam, the cushion is partially compressed in the vicinity of and throughout the entire length of the forthcoming seam. In a second step, while making an individual stitch and while maintaining said partial compression, the cushion is further compressed adjacent the stitch over a limited area within the portion of the cushion partially compressed. |
