PURPOSE:To simplify the structure by adopting the constitution that a boosting transformer is mounted on a base of a thin film magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic head 1 provided with a magnetic head 2 and a transformer 3, the transformer 3 comprising a yoke 9 and a magnetic base 4 uses a coil 6a formed by a lead wire 6 as a primary coil and a coil 10 wound on the yoke 9 as a secondary coil, the coils form a boosting transformer. Even when the magnetic head 2 is a one-turn magnetic head, a large output of a recording/reproducing signal is obtained by increasing number of turns of the secondary coil 10. Since the coil 10 at the secondary side is wound on the yoke 9, the winding position and the number of turns are selected comparatively freely and a suitable number of windings to realize a desired recording/re producing output is selected. |
