PURPOSE:To change circulating direction in bath water circuit and improve cleaning effect in the bath water circuit or to mix water in a bathtub and improve temperature distribution in the water by a method wherein a pump is rotated normally and reversely. CONSTITUTION:A heat exchanger 2 is heated by a heating burner 1, heat exchange is effected between water in a bathtub, which flows in the heat exchanger 2 by a pump, and hot-water, the hot-water whose temperature is controlled by a thermistor in the outlet port (high temperature part) of the heat exchanger 2, is circulated forcibly into normal and reverse directions by the pump 4 and, thus, the water in the bathtub is heated up. The pump, driven into normal and reverse rotating directions, is provided whereby the circulating direction of bath water circuit may be changed and the improvement of the cleaning effect of the bath water circuit as well as the temperature distribution of hot-water in the bathtub may be contrived.
