PURPOSE:To prevent the foul use of electronic cards like integrated circuit IC cards, etc., due to the loss, robbery, etc., and to improve the crime preventing effect together with the protection of secrecy, by ciphering the secret one of those data and storing the data in those cards for storage. CONSTITUTION:An IC card 5b includes a data input/output terminal part 51, a ciphering processing part 9a which ciphers the record data supplied with a command for ciphering, ciphering data memory 11a, a general data memory 52, a ciphering data restoring part 12a, and a main control part 50. A main control part 10a of 1b displays the guidance on a display 3 when the card 5b is inserted and retrieves the password supplied from an operating part 2a out of a password file 13. In addition, the part 10a has the function to give the commands to the card 5b to read and restore the ciphering data as well as the function to give the command to the card 5b put into an IC card read/write part 6b to cipher the record data to be ciphered when a transaction is through. |
