摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a feed gas having molar ratios of CO and CO2 to hydrogen controlled to the levels suitable for methanol synthesis, by reforming methane with steam in a primary reforming furnace and reforming the product with oxygen in a secondary reforming furnace supplying the reforming furnace with CO2 together with oxygen. CONSTITUTION:A raw material gas composed of methane and steam is supplied to a primary reforming furnace and the reformed gas is supplied together with oxygen and CO2 to a secondary reforming furnace to effect the reformation of methane in the reformed gas by increasing the partial CO2 pressure in the secondary reforming furnace. A feed gas for methanol synthesis having controlled molar ratios of CO and CO2 to hydrogen can be produced by this process. Preferably, the molar ratios of CO and CO2 to hydrogen satisfy the relationship of formula and the amount of CO having high reaction rate in methanol synthesis is made larger than the amount of CO2. The amount of CO2 in the supplied gas can be controlled by cooling the outlet gas of the secondary reforming furnace and washing a part of the gas with an alkaline aqueous solution.
