<p>Blemishes on a CCD array 5 are mapped by uniformly illuminating the array immediately prior to use and storing the locations of the blemishes in a random access memory 15. During use the outputs from the blemish locations are ignored. The blemish locations are mapped each time the array is operational.</p> |
