A top end support (72, 80) for rod guides (32) of a pressurized water reactor includes an axially extending sleeve (72) affixed to the upper end of a rod guide (32) and a fixed cylindrical support (80) having an integral depending sidewall (81) of generally cylindrical configuration received in telescoping relationship within said rod guide sleeve (72) when in assembled relationship therewith.
