PURPOSE:To conduct discharge recovery processing positively without enlarging a device by providing a removing means in which the speed of a fluid is increased in a supply path to a discharge opening and foreign matters in an ink supply path are removed. CONSTITUTION:A head 1 is capped to a joining section 3 at a home position, a vent valve 5A is closed by ON operation of a lever 9, a pump 6 is operated and ink is sucked from a discharge opening 2, the inside of the joining section 3 and a suction tube 4 are filled with ink, and excess filling is prevented by a solenoid valve 8. The pump 6 is stopped by the neutral operation of the lever 9, and joining/separation between the joining section 3 and the discharge opening 2 are repeated several times. Air is fed into the head 1 from the discharge opening 2 at that time, air is discharged from the discharge opening 2 quickly through suction under negative pressure by the pump 6, and the cause of defective discharge in an ink supply path to the discharge opening 2 from a sub-tank 12, that is, foreign matters such as remaining bubbles in a filter 30 and at corner sections and stepped sections can be removed positively. |
