<p>Footwear having composite soles featuring a hardwearing oil resistant wear surface, e.g. of nitrile rubber, stuck by a layer of a suitable adhesive to the main portion of the sole which is formed from a material (I) offering good moulding properties and adhesion to the shoe upper, esp. where (I) is PVC. The wear resistant material may cover the entire sole, or only parts such as the heel and toe regions. Esp. for specialised footwear such as bootes, safety shoes, ski boots, etc. where resistance to abrasion, oil, petrol and acid liquids is required.</p> |
