PURPOSE:To attain a compensation close to an original signal at generation of a dropout by utilizing the synthesis of a value preceding a prescribed value when a dropout takes place and changes at a point of time preceding the prescribed value repetitively. CONSTITUTION:When a dropout takes place at a point W, no curve (sound signal) descending downward to the right from the point W exists, then levels V3, V4 are neither sampled not held and the level before the occurrence of the dropout is obtained repetitively. In this case, the 1st switch 18 is changed over to a contact gamma. Then the output of the 4th and 5th hold circuits 20, 21 is fed back repetitively via the 2nd switch 22 and the solid line part of the signal led through a switch 24 is outputted further from a terminal 27. This is the repetition of a waveform shown in dotted lines before the occurrence of the dropout. Thus, if a dropout takes place, the period D is compensated by a staircase wave and the result is closer to a true signal in comparison with a conventional system.
