PURPOSE:To improve the map production efficiency by using an encoder which delivers the mapping data in the form of the digital data in response to the operation of a plotter, a data base production control pat, a real-time display device, and a correction input part. CONSTITUTION:A high-speed data base production/real-time display/correction device for mapping data is provided with a rotary encoder 2 for directions X-Z of a plotter 1, a data base production control part 4, a real-time display device 5, and a correction input part 6. The aerial photographs P1 and P2 photographed at different angles are applied to the plotter 1 and the master drawing of a map is delivered onto a drawing board D. Each encoder 2 supplies the position coordinates and the altitude mapping data on each point of the map to the part 4 and turns them into the data base to store it in a magnetic disk 49. At the same time, said data base is also displayed in real time on the device 5 in the form of a map. The mapping information on the data base is called out to a correction display device 7. Then the desired corrections are added to the mapping information by a keyboard, mouses 81 and 82, and digitizer 9.
