PURPOSE:To minimize the collision of data transmission/reception processing and fault supervisory processing by generating a fault supervisory request command only when a processing section controlling a terminal receives no normal interruption from a processing part controlling a host controller side. CONSTITUTION:The 1st processing section 4 consists of a CPU interface control section 7 and a sub-control section 8 to control a CPU 1 and a processing section 5. The 2nd processing section 5 consists of a terminal interface control section 9 and a main control section 10 to control the 1st processing section 4 and a terminal 3. In not receiving an interruption notice from the 1st processing section 4 within a prescribed time, the 2nd processing section 5 informs a fault supervisory request command to the processing section 4. The processing section 4 decodes the command, executes the supervisory processing and sends the result of supervision to the processing section 5. The processing section 5 confirms and judges the result of supervision and generates a fault notice to the CPU 1 at fault state.
