PURPOSE:To obtain the amorphous alloy wire having excellent press-fitting by performing the metal plating or alloy plating consisting of the specified metal on the surface of an amorphous alloy thin strip and by making a linear body by winding in the width direction. CONSTITUTION:A linear body is made by manufacturing an amorphous alloy thin strip, by performing the metal plating or alloy plating consisting of one kind of >=two kinds of the metals which is selected out of Zn, Sn, Cd, Pb, Fe, Ni, Co, Cu, Ag and Au on the surface of this thin strip, then by winding in the width direction. In this way the amorphous alloy wire excellent in press- fitting is obtd. easily and inexpensively.
