PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition enabling the determination of absorbance of a color-developed solution directly with a colorimeter, by using 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide as a tetrazolium salt. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is composed of a nucleoside phosphorylase, a xanthine oxidase, 3-(4,5-dimethyl-1-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H- tetrazolium bromide and a buffer solution of 7-9 pH. A transparent color- developed solution can be produced even after the formation of a formazan pigment and the concentration of inosine and/or hypoxanthine can be determined easily, rapidly and in high accuracy.
