PURPOSE:To make the column and row conversion printing of the setted line number content or the printable line number content corresponding to a line modification possible, by a method wherein the printable range is obtained from the top line position, the printable line number corresponding to a line modification is obtained from this printable range, and the printing start line and the printing end line are set. CONSTITUTION:The top line position 27 dot is utilized as a printable range and set to the register R14 of print control register area. The print indication line number is set to the register R0 and at the same time, the print remaining line number is set to the register R1. Further, the print start line sequence number is set to the register R3 and 0 is set to the register R7 as the print end point. Then, the vertical letter size of the letter on the line given by the print start line sequence number stored in the register R3 is loaded. Thereafter, the print end point stored in the register R7 and the vertical letter size are added to be written into the register R5 as the temporary print start point. If the temporary print start point is less than the printable range, the temporary print start point is set to the register R4 as the print start point.
