PURPOSE:To sharply improve working efficiency, by a method wherein a grindstone is moved toward the surface to be ground of a work at a high no-load feed speed higher than a grinding feed speed. CONSTITUTION:A motor 7a for feed driving is first driven by a feed control device 9, and a feed table 7 is transversely moved at a high no-load feed speed previously set to a value higher tens percent than a given grinding feed speed. When a conductive grindstone 5 is brought into contact with a maximum margin part 2c of an inner peripheral surface 2b to be ground of a work 2, a contact detecting means 10 is actuated to output a contact detecting signal 17 from a detecting circuit 14. Thus, hereafter, a grindstone 5 for grinding, transversely moved in the radial direction of the work at a given grinding feed speed as it is rotated at a high speed, grinds the inner peripheral surface 2b to be ground of the work 2 which is similarly rotated at a high speed. This reduces an air cut and improves working efficiency. |
