<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized, light-weight inexpensive controller by controlling a plurality of shunt field currents by a chopper for a single shunt field circuit. CONSTITUTION:An armature current is controlled by choppers 7a, 7b for an armature circuit when an electric railcar is accelerated, and a shunt field current is controlled by a chopper 9 for a shunt field circuit and thyristors 11a, 11b. After the conduction rates of the choppers 7a, 7b becomes maximum, only the shunt field current is controlled. When there is the wheel diameters and the characteristics of a first and second motor are different to each other, the shunt field current Ia of the first motor is controlled by the thyristor 11a, and the shunt field current Ib of the second motor is controlled by the thyristor 11b.</p> |
