PURPOSE:To remove objects adhered to molding rolls without stopping them by a method in which ultraviolet rays are directed to the surface of the molding roll for optical decomposition and oxidation of organics adhered to the surface of the roll by means of ultraviolet rays and ozone formed by the ultraviolet rays. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic resin film consists of a film-forming polymer without use of solvent. The molding rolls are used as the cooling rolls in the extrusion molding of a thermoplastic resin film, the heating and cooling rolls in the stretching process and for the heating treatment, etc., and the surface of the film is subjected to coating and laminating processes as well as surface processing. Objects adhered to the surface of the rolls are removed by irradiation with ultraviolet rays for photolysis and also by ozone formed by ultraviolet rays for oxidization. The preferred wavelength of the ultraviolet rays is 184.9nm and 253.7nm with peaks of intensity, having good efficiency with respect to ozone formation and decomposition of objects adhered to the rolls. |
