PURPOSE:To realize a high-speed ink jet printer and to reduce remarkably the clogging of ink, by a method wherein the electrode corresponding to an ink jet port is installed in the nozzle having a plurality of ink jet ports, bubbles are produced by the heat generated when current is passed to an electrode and ink is jetted by the pressure of bubbles. CONSTITUTION:The nozzle selection electrode 3 formed inside an ink chamber cover 2 is covered by a protection film 4 excepting a portion thereof. The portion having no protection film 4 is the part to which the nozzle selection electrode 3 is connected with a flat cable 5 and the electrode exposure part 6 provided in an ink tube 7. Conductive ink is packed in an ink chamber 1. If printing pulse is applied to the nozzle selection electrode 3 of a nozzle corresponding to the dot required to be printed by closing a switch 5, current flows between the electrode exposure part 6 and the ink chamber 1, bubbles are produced near the electrode exposure part 6 of a large current density and ink is exhausted to the outside of the nozzle. |
